It's Complicated 01/23/2010
![]() "It's Complicated" was an okay movie. The movie explores the phenomenon of older men dating and marrying much younger women. Jake (Alec Baldwin) is this man. He was once married to Jane, who he cheated on with Agness. Jane and Jake got a divorce, Agness cheated on Jake, got pregnant, came back to Jake and got married. Jake is not happy in his new marriage or new life. When Jake and Jane's youngest child graduates from college, they both end up at the same hotel in New York. A lot of drinks later, they end up waking up together. Despite Jane's best thinking, the affair continues. She always had in the back of her head, "what if..." She decided to find out. And you'll have to watch it if you want to know the rest. I think "It's Complicated" is absolutely a chick-flick and maybe even one for a middle-aged to older crowd. I went to go see it with a friend and we both had trouble identifying with the characters/story line. Neither of else felt like, that's an hour and a half I'll never get back, but I feel like I could have waited until it was on DVD. I think the movie is really honest. The kids go on a bit of a roller-coaster. Jane goes on a bit of a roller-coaster. Jake's like has BEEN a roller-coaster. Parts of the movie were hilarious. At one point in time, it was so funny that I was like, "this could be one of those movies that I can watch over and over and over again like I do with "How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days", but I don't think I still feel the same way. I wouldn't pay to see it again and I probably won't rent it myself, if I was a friends house and they were watching it, I'd watch it again.
