From Paris With Love 02/06/2010
![]() Let me start by saying, it's a good thing I do reviews and recaps. I've liked every movie I've seen lately, some more than others, but nonetheless. So first a disclaimer, I love badasses and I have a thing for John Travolta, no matter how old or young or fat or bald he gets, I love him, so when John Travolta plays a badass, well.... and it doesn't hurt that Jonathan Rhys Meyers is gorgeous, too. The movie: James (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), plays something of a straight-laced, by-the-book, assistant to an important government figure. He gets orders from some mystery man on a phone. James is also in love with a French woman (p.s. it takes place in Paris, hence the title) who just proposed to him. He doesn't really get the chance to celebrate because Jamesgets a call from the mystery man telling him he got the promotion he's been looking for. Just like that, he's off. He has to go pick up his partner, Wax (John Travolta), from customs. Wax is.... well.... "unorthodox" is the word they use. Basically the movie about the two of them taking down a drug ring and terrorists. There are a lot of shoot-'em-up scenes and some surprises along the way. I liked it, I didn't love it, but I definitely liked it. I'd see it again and I think a lot of girls that like action will like it, I'm confident that 98% of the men out there will absolutely love it.
