Wolfman 02/12/2010
![]() The Basics: The movie is about a curse, I think it's a gypsy curse, but that wasn't completely clear. Anyway, so apparently there is a wolfman. The wolfman is a normal person, unless it's a full-moon, and then he transforms into a werewolf. The werewolf pretty much destroys people. However, if the werewolf bites you and you live, you're cursed to become a werewolf every full-moon. The Story: The son of an aristocrat gets attacked and dies. His wife writes Lawrence, his brother in New York, to tell him the news. Lawrence goes to London to try to solve the mystery. He finds out his brother was negotiating with the gypsies so Lawrence goes to their camp to try to find out what happened. While he is there, he gets attacked by the wolfman, but lives. He goes on killing sprees, the town tries to persecute him, things happen. You'll have to watch to find out what these things are... The Critique: The casting directors, set designers, and costume designers all get a huge thumbs up. The movie was gorgeous. The house was fabulous the artifacts in the house and at the store were to-die-for. The costumes were amazing and the people looked the part. The imagery was on point. The movie was dark when it needed to be dark, there was fire when there needed to be fire. The non-discursive elements really cued the events. If you're into classic horror films, you'll love this. There's a werewolf, some demons, and some old-school mental institution techniques. The special-effects weren't very special. There were a lot of parts in the movie that made me jump, but just because I wasn't expecting it. At the same time, the effects were comical. Like I previously stated, if you're into classic horror films, you'll love this. 1 Comment | AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
