Hot Tub Time Machine 03/27/2010
![]() J.J. here for an amazing review of "Hot Tub Time Machine." If you liked "Back To The Future," "The Terminator" and neon colored sunglasses then you'll love "Hot Tub Time Machine." The movie starts in the current year 2010. You see three old friends (John Cusack, Craig Robinson, and Rob Corddry) separated in their own lives until tragedy happens. To recover and re bond their relationships, they choose to go back to a place that once made them happy, Kodiak Valley. (I need to mention they also take John Cusack's nephew played by Clark Duke with them as well. You might have seen him in a movie called "Sex Drive," which was not only funny, but informative.) After many shots of scotch, a wicked hot tub experience and an upset squirrel; they find themselves back in 1986. They decide to repeat the past, but are stuck in what I like to call the "Quantum Leap" scenario. "Let's put right that once went wrong." Chaos ensues and a great movie continues. I didn't have the best expectations going in, frankly, how good could a movie be with a title like "Hot Tub Time Machine?" Well, you guessed it. It rocked my socks off like Van Halen's 1984 World Tour...if only I was older than 4 at the time. I really liked that John Cusack and the rest of the producers didn't take themselves too seriously. Case and point, the title drop where Craig Robinson says "It must be some sort of Hot Tub Time Machine." It received a round of applause. Go see this movie and don't take the kids. They wouldn't know what "Red Dawn" was and it contains a lot of adult humor. I hope you like my review.
