A Single Man is about a professor named George (Colin Firth) who is struggling with the death of his significant other, Jim (Matthew Goode).  The movie starts by George saying he knows "how to pretend to be George that everyone wants him to be, who he used to be."  Throughout the movie, he goes about his day as he would any other day, except he is planning his suicide.  He gets ready, goes to work, hangs out with his friend Charlie (Julianne Moore).  George often has flashbacks of Jim and when he found out about Jim's death. Will George kill himself, or will a student, Kenny (Nicholas Hoult), help him find happiness?
