![]() Another surprise on my list!!! I was totally opposed to seeing this movie, because I thought it looked scary and I don't like scary. Then, I found out my buddy Doug Jones has a part. Since a lot of my fans are fans of Doug Jones, I thought I should suck it up and take one for team. It turned out to be a REALLY GOOD MOVIE! The movie takes place at a random gas station/diner in the middle of desert owned by Jeep and his dad, Bob. The only people that stop by are those that are lost. The movie is centered around a pregnant waitress named Charlie, but this isn't necessarily clear until it is was spelled out (for me anyway). Percy is the cook at the restaurant. Jeep is a good guy that is in love with Charlie even though she is pregnant with someone else's kid and doesn't express any overt interest in Jeep. A mother, father, and grown up daughter are stranded there because their car broke down while moving to Scottsdale. Kyle stops by to use the phone. Everything seems pretty normal. The family is upset that their teenage daughter isn't exactly what they hoped her to be. They are upset that the car broke down and it's taking too long to fix. Then there is a really weird cloud looking thing that kind of appears in the distance. The tv goes out, when they get it working again, there is an emergency warning but there are no instructions. A little old comes in to eat. She orders a steak, rare, and water with no ice. Flies are all over her bloody steak. In an instant, the sweet, little, old lady, chews off the dad's neck and starts climbing walls. It turns out you can shoot demons. Who knew? Next thing you know, L.A.P.D. show up. Turns out he's not really L.A.P.D. He's some sort of hero, who explains that Charlie's baby is the reason for the crazy lady, and there are going to be a lot more "people" like the crazy lady. Apparently, this is another post-apocalypse type movie and the baby is going to save the world so all of these demons are tying to prevent the baby from living. Doug Jones is the ice cream man, which is the second demon. His role was memorable. Demons apparently turn out to be angels, according to Mike. Mike turns out to be the archangel Michael and he and Gabrielle are in opposition. I kept looking away from the screen and staring at my popcorn because I was sure that something terrifying was about to happen, but nothing too scary ended up happening. I had totally made the movie to be worse in my head than it actually was before I saw it. I actually liked the movie a lot. 3 Comments | AuthorWrite something about yourself.
